Two Taiwanese journalists were injured in a car accident in China that hurt a total of eight passengers and left one dead on Thursday night, according to the Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) yesterday.

The two Taiwanese journalists, a reporter and a photographer from the cable TV station ERA News, were injured when a car ran into a road barricade, causing the four cars following close behind it to crash.

The accident occurred around 10pm in the western Chinese province of Xinjiang, according to the CNA. The accident also injured one Chinese reporter and five other people.
