Newsweek's Evan Thomas leads in the Gore-ing of John Kerry |
|
http://www.prospect.org/web/page.ww?section=root&name=ViewWeb&articleId=8253<snip>
In 2000, Thomas dug up some of Gore’s high-school classmates and concluded, “Gore was decent and upright but had few close friends at St. Albans.”
It worked so well that he used the same tactic in 2004.
“John Kerry has never fit in easily,” Thomas writes this week. “When Newsweek asked about 30 of his 90-odd classmates at St. Paul's School to name his friends, they were stumped.”
What’s more, neither of the candidates had the good sense in high school to act like Holden Caulfield. (A pose George W. Bush, however, apparently had the wisdom to adopt at Andover.) Unbelievably, they actually wanted people to like them. more...

3. Has anybody noticed that the cover picture ... |
|
The cover picture is eerily reminiscent of the jigsaw puzzle picutre of Howard Dean which was on Newsweek's cover the week they began Goring him in earnest.

Please spare us Mr Evan Thomas-why don't you demand (as a journalist?) to know why americans are dying in Iraq to? Who gives a rat's behind what Kerry did in High School=he served his country and he has a brain-2 major factors over the present moron-does anyone at newsweek give a shit about how bad a condition the country is in?

5. Newsweek is a despicable tool of the right wing. |

Don't kid yourself about them. They must be subsidized with money stolen from the people by the right wing. They may try to pull off a repeat of their successful trick during the Clinton character assassination attempt. Michael Isikoff (sp?) wrote a revelatory piece for Newsweek about Clinton, but it's rejected, so it goes to Drudge, and takes off from there. Then, Michael becomes Elf #1 in the so-called journalist batallion and he dumps news, lies, and opinion about every other day on all the cable shows.
However, they don't seem to have much on Kerry or Edwards, so it is going to be disgustingly transparent with an overtone of puke green.
