Is the mainstream Media ashamed of the way they covered the SBVT Story? |
|
It seems that CNN, MSNBC aren't even talking about this stuff anymore(I really don't know about fox, as I refuse to watch them) but are starting to ask questions about AWOL Bush. And in the coming weeks, with the blitz that is being planned by Moveon and others, it should get a lot more play. Maybe the mainstream media is either waking up or stinging from all the justified criticism they are recieving about not checking sources and accepting the SBVT story at face value. No matter what the case, I hope they hound bush about this AWOL story. It needs to be told.

1. Hit and run - if they continued to cover it they'd have to cover debunking |
|
very thorough debunking at that - hence, dropped.

3. The mainstream media is 90% for Bush and we will never get a fair hearing |
|
We have to find ways around them like F9-11, books and grassroots organizing. The corporate media is as much the enemy as the Bush misadministration.

4. Well, many in the mainstream media have admitted Iraq WMD screw ups. |
|
in other words, they f***ed up in terms of the reason for this war.
It seems they did not learn from that.
Let's see how they play out the dirt on dumbya... I would love to see them discuss not only the charges vs. dumbya but also the comparison between the fact that there is (hopefully) far more foundation to these charges against dumbya than there was for the Swiftliars.

5. They've done their part already. |
|
Rove's plan just called for them to repeat the story over and over for a few weeks, and then drop it. The media's right wing minions have now taken over and started repeating the baseless charges over and over. The lies should become the truth in just a couple of more weeks.

6. A cooperation has no conscience |

The faces you see that read the news may, but they are just dong what they are scripted to do and have a loyalty only to their job and maintaining it. And if they want to keep it they will keep there mouth shut and just read it. The company's only interest is to make money and bush has promised them a tax cut so the case is closed.

100s of stories drop before they could damage Bush. Hit and run says it all.

Ted Koppel was "explaining" it just the other day to Jon Stewart.
The fact of the allegation themselves was the news, not whether the accusations were true or not, said the strangely-coiffed newswhore.
