I hope I have come to the right place |
|
This is really, really bugging me... I was reading a thread in General Discussion forum regarding the press conference with Allawi and Bush*. One of the posters remarked that * had something in his ear; an ear piece of some kind. I think he was wired. My first thought is that he will use that during the debates! How can I notify the debate committee about this? Or would it be better if DU did it as a mass e-mail to them, or to media. What should be done? Any thoughts?

1. Calm down, They are certainly aware of it already. |
|
If he shows up at the debates with that thing stuffed in his ear, he will be burned at the stake. No way he will get away with it.

9. These guys are professionals. |
|
Let's give them a little credit. If an average joe noticed something like this during a closed conference, the Kerry team will certainly see it too. It won't escape their attention.
If it really worries you that much, go to the Kerry site and contact them about it. I'd be interested to know what they have to say.

7. I've seen hearing aids so small they fit inside the ear |
|
What if they use something so small it can't be seen?

10. If it's really that small, then they would certainly get away with it. |
|
No one could prove it wasn't actually his brain.

I am acquainted with someone who is helping organize one of the debates. I can't say any more of what he said, in the off chance it could be traced back to him, but suffice to say, they know.

Don't be thoroughly satisfied with the mere fact they know. From what I can tell from this distance, these things will be so scripted, the word "debate" is hardly a fair description.
Again, I shouldn't go into the discussions I have had with this individual, so I'll just say that the level of control the organizers have over things is not as thorough as we might like.

12. does anyone else wonder who talks to bush through the ear piece |
|
is it Karen Hughes or Condi Rice?
My fantasy is that our side hacks into the ear piece and takes over prompting bush.

13. I'm not sure, but ... |
|
I have this inkling that someone snuck that thing in there while he was asleep once, and he woke up and heard someone telling him to do things, thinking it was the voice of god. Ever since, "his people" have convinced him the ear piece is his direct link, sort of the red phone to Heaven or some such thing.
Either that or it's Babs reminding him not to play with himself in front of people.

I love that movie! (Real Genius)
What will be the telltale signs that an earpiece is in place? If you were outside the hall, is there a device that could pick up a frequency being used? Will we have hackers handy? *rubs hands with glee at the very thought*
Reminds me of the movie Used Cars...
(President Carter on TV)
President Carter : -high inflation. What is the solution?
(Speech hacked by satellite. TV cuts to commercial for Luke's yard taking place in Roy's yard) Jeff : You want the solution to inflation? Hi, friends. Marshall Lucky here for New Deal Used Cars, where we're lowering inflation not only by fighting high prices, not only by murdering high prices, but by blowing the living shit out of high prices. Yessir. Here's an example. It's a 1972 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, for sixty-two ninety-nine. That price is too high.
(shoots car)
Jeff : Yessir. Here's another one. It's a Lincoln Continental, Mark IV, 1973. It's loaded. It's got air conditioning. It's got a stereo. It's got white-wall radial tires. It's got power steering, power brakes, power seats, power windows. And a price that is just too high.
(shoots car) Jeff : Yessir.
(Jim appears on car behind him in costume) Jim : YAAAAAAHHHH.
Freddie : (on microphone) Look out, Marshall Lucky. It's High Prices. Jeff : Take this, you dirty ol' High Prices.
("shoots" Jim, who puts on a very convincing act)
Jim : AHHHH. Ya got me Marshall. Ahhhhh...
Jeff : (shocked) Jesus Christ.
(winks at screen)
Jeff : Yessir, that's New Deal Used Cars... Now wait just a Goddamn minute. What the hell is this? Is this a 1974 Mercedes 450SL for *twenty-four thousand dollars*? That's too fucking high.
(blows up car with dynamite. Roy watches at home) Roy : You sonova bitch!
Jeff : (laughs) Yessir. We blew the shit out of that over-priced motherfucker just the way we blow the shit out of *all* high prices, down here at New Deal Used Cars. So y'all come on down. Did you hear what I said? New Deal Used Cars. So y'all come on down. Did you hear what I said?
(TV cuts back to President) President Carter : I have heard you, with unmistakable clarity...
Roy : You sonova bitch!
(kicks TV and electrocutes himself)

as usual... Along with visualizing Kerry's inauguration I'll hold that image of * just discombobulated on national tv. My happy thought...not that I'm bitter :)

8. PNR, from the posts regarding the press conference |
|
I take it he didn't do very well, which, in a way, contradicts my fears about the ear piece. But a debate is more controlled. But I am satisfied by the answer I got from Roy.

5. What I'm worried about is the town hall debate |
|
Edited on Thu Sep-23-04 08:24 PM by rocknation
Where it's been agreed that the questions will be written in advance by members of an audience picked by the (GOP donor) Gallup polling company and given to the moderator. Since Bush won't get away with being wired, what's to stop the GOP from getting a sneak peek at them?
