We must print a Palm Size Chain Newspaper!! Hurry!!!
We must have a communication system that is easy and quick that goes beyond the internet.

Because this is the holiday season, we can pass them out to people at parties that bring up the election issues.

I could kick myself because I attended a party last night, 4 people were so upset about the election but didn't know the FRAUD FACTS. How I wish that I could have quietly given them a palm size chain paper to pass along.

I've seen the flyers but they are way too big to pass out on a day to day basis.

There should be a palm size newspaper that we can print weekly or daily off of our computer that will make it easy to pass out to friends that they pass along to the people that they meet, like a chain.

It would not have pictures and the print must be readable but not wasting a lot of ink. About six of these tiny newspapers should fit on one page.

WE can leave the tiny/guerrilla NEWS in important places like between those local giveaway newspapers that people pick up next to the coin news bins.

I can see it in my mind but don't have the skills to make it happen.

Here is my idea...

On one sheet of paper, printed on black and white, the important issues that the Media WON'T print, we should PRINT and distribute.

For example: We must get people aware of the election fraud! Liberal Democrats don't have a CLUE!

Another example, I saw a thread about "Don't Spend One Red Cent on January 20th!" Excellent idea but it must spread big time before that date. The MSM will never get it going and it needs to happen.

Can anyone make it happen?
Does anyone have a lay out that we could use?

It can't be a lot of words, just the FACTS!

1. I like the idea, but
I don't have the artistic ability to pull it off.

11. My creativity is in my mind : )

But it is clearly there.

The main thing needed, in terms of layout, would be the banner headline, not in dark print because that wastes too much ink.

We would also need a catchy title...

should say something like... We are the Mini Media because Main Stream Media Refuses to tell you the Truth ( even shorter than that)

2. hmmm.
When you said "palm" I assumed you meant a chain newspaper on the internet, designed in size to fit on a palm pilot.

That could work, too.

Small layout. Bullet points. Flawless fact gathering. Hmmmm.

6. Well it could be downloaded from the internet

But we all should be able to print it out before we leave for work or play every day.

It can't just be one of those ,"e mail this to all your friends" because the friends read it and it goes to a limited number. Those people may or may not email it to their friends.

I want it to fit in the palm of my HAND so that I can carry 6/12 of them in my pocket or purse and give to like minded people for them to read it and then give it to someone else that they meet that day.
Even if they passed it on to two other people, that will expand our news circulation more than just using the internet as our soul means of getting the word out.

The beauty of the idea is that it must be big enough, and impressive enough that people will feel drawn to read it and ultimately understand that the MSM is not giving them the Truth.

3. Someone had mentioned business cards as well
You can get them pretty inexpensively even if you get a rush put on them. ?

I'm not good at wording things down - I tend to write like Dickens - so I'm not sure what we should put on there.

How big are you envisioning? A half of a sheet of paper or the full sheet? If it's the full sheet that gives us a lot of space.

Would want to have a DU link, of course, but then a blurb about the recount - where is the best place to get info on that? Cobb's site? We need to reference the Arnebeck suit as well.

Arrrgghh. I wish that I was more creative.

4. We could put the red hands on the business cards as well.
Just throwing that out there.

A paperclip? A black ribbon? Trying to think of a graphic for this. We need at least some graphic to catch the reader's attention.

5. OK-Let me take a crack at suggesting the format--
It would be one 8.5x11 sheet, printed on both sides & folded into quarters. The 2 quarters that face outside would have each have a headline & the 1st paragraph of a top story. When you unfold the sheet, you can read the rest of the 2 stories. You can get maybe 500 words on a 2-column side using Times New Roman, which is enough for 2 stories per sheet. I wish we could draw diagrams here because I can clearly visualize how to lay it out. Both sides would be 2 columns. The front side would have 2 stories side by side, each with its own headline. The obverse side would have the continuations of the stories from the first side, again in side-by-side columns. When the paper is folded in quarters, you get a little booklet-looking thing with a headline facing you whichever way it lies. I don't know if this is clear enough for anyone to visualize, but I hope so. all you would need in the way of layout software would be something like Print Shop, which you can get for $30 or less.

8. BINGO # 1!

My only question would be can the hold thing fit into the palm of my hand?

If it is bigger than that, people will not want to print it out each day.

But, you have it!

I know next to nothing about Print Shop but I can see in my mind that the logo could be something like the paper clip because the clip would not have to be done in color to get the message across.

I love the CLIP idea and it would be a great symbol, IMO, because if you clip clips together you get a chain!

It should also have the website listed so that if they wanted to stay current, they could read the Palm Size News in a Nutshell on that site on a daily basis.

18. Can it fit in your palm?
Take an 8.5x11 sheet of paper. Fold it in half, then fold it in half again. That's the size I'm talking about--4.25x5.5".

One person could be the central distributor (CD) with an email list. Others send articles to the CD, who formats the sheet & distributes it to others on the list (as a pdf?), who in turn print it out & make copies for local distribution, folding each one individually. It should cost about 5 cents a copy. If you make 20 copies it's a buck an issue. $5 for 100. Leave them lying around coffee shops, senior centers & laundromats. I especially like to hit laundromats because that's where people with modest means spend a lot of boring time.

19. BINGO # 2 !

I get it now!
What if we could start it with a full sheet, fold in half and get two tiny newspapers from the one sheet?

That way, anyone could make it from their own computer!
It would be easy to do and easier and cheaper to distribute than business cards/address labels or flyers.

The first item that I would want to do it the January 20th info and a update on the FRAUD.

It could be called... The CLIP News
and then you could say

Your link to the TRUTH About The Bush Administration

Pass It On To Get The Word Out

What the Media Won’t Tell You

Anyone have any other ideas?

:bounce:
Thanks Jackpine!

Just thought of something else, we could put a CLIP to fold it together and encourage the reader to wear the CLIP to show solidarity to our cause.

I'll try it out today and get back to everyone.

21. Templates?
Word has templates for brochures & newsletters. I found this on the Micro$oft website:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC062062991033.aspx?CategoryID=CT011389711033

It's basically a pre-made template on which you can replace the text. There are two pages, and it tells you how to print them back-to-back and fold into a brochure.

Also, the HP website has some templates for download:

http://www.hp.com/sbso/productivity/office/brochure.html

22. BINGO #3 thanks WritersBlock!!

These Templates are perfect!
I have bookmarked them and will work with it today.

Note: I'm on my way to a Luncheon with my Rethug friend --ug.
Wish I could have Mini News Papers to fit in my purse and distribute to anyone who mentions the name Bush with a frown.

I sent an email to Michael Moore's website after reading it yesterday. He has some good short sentences there that would work with this idea. He gave info about the events for Jan.20th.
That is the kind of thing that we must get out to everyone.
My dream would be that people could go to his web site and download info for our cause.

We must really be ready to let the Chimp know that we don't like his tactics...and that is putting it mildly.

Please keep this kicked so that others can help us get our MINI MEDIA started.

23. MS Publisher has Side Fold Car/Top Fold Card Options for 4/page
One chooses New/Blank Publications/Side (Top) Fold Card and four pages are inserted into the layout. To make it double-sided, insert another 4 sheets. You put whatever on each page, then, using Adobe Acrobat, print it to a file (could probably use something else but I like PDF's). You end up with a file that prints 2 8 1/x11 sheets, each sheet with 4 pages on it. the top two inserted pages face up, the bottom two face down, so that when folded-

Granted, it's not 6 pages per sheet, but the 4 pages is extremely easy to do, and one could always, on the first page, put in two text areas, instead of one, (or even four areas) so that a title page of some sort faces up, iF the whole thing is refolded to be more pages.
Example

when printing, even on a home printer, all you'd have to do is print, say, 10 copies of one page, then turn those pages over in the printer and print the 2nd page on the other side.

9. I've tried business cards, too expensive

It should be something that requires copying 1,2,3 sheets of paper every day or on a Friday(because usually the news is slow over the weekend) that tells the TRUTH that the media refuses to tell us.

12. I was thinking the business card packs that you can buy
Those are pretty affordable but I see what you are saying.

I'd like to make some business cards that are generic to election fraud and direct people to the websites that are carrying the stories about the recounts.

13. Good idea
Edited on Mon Dec-20-04 02:16 PM by goclark
The problem that I found about the business cards is that the news changes so quickly and the cards are pretty sturdy.

Our thrust is to get the news out as quickly as possible and with print big enough for seniors, like me,to read. :)

We need something that can be updated each day and be a "Hot Off The Press!" Edition

For example...
In my dreams I can see a banner headline that says " Vote OverTurned in Ohio! Read all about it!!!!"

On Edit: Please help kick this so we can get some more creative ideas.

We must find a varity of ways to help America to know that our democracy is being stolen.

24. Zines
Clearly the zine revolution passed over most people on this message board. That and wheatpasting fliers. Want to get the word out? Make a bunch of wheatpaste (recipes are elsewhere on the net) and start canvassing all the areas possible with fliers(whether those spots are legal or not is up to your discretion). If you want something smaller, do handbills. Either or.

If not, I'm willing to do one, maybe once a week, with some help. I would need consensus on what the top 10 issues of the week are, for example.
