Corporate media, White House access, and more...
The press is reverent toward political/corporate power when it should be irreverent. In order to insure White House access, softball type questions are tossed at press conferences in order to not offend power. Speaking truth to power is dead in the "mainstream media".

It's all about ratings and not offending their corporate owners or political power(same thing).
And to think 'Joe SixPack' has it in his head (I wonder where from?) that the media is "librul". If it was so liberal then Air America would not stand out so much.

When and how will we ever get a truly liberal media that has the freedom to ask the tough questions and do the hard hitting, investigative shows that we need from the "4th Estate"?

1. We don't need the media to be liberal or conservative.
They should just be doing their jobs.

And the White House Press Corps should be thumping the Bushies on the head everytime they deny or restrict access because a media member asks something tougher than, "So, what did Dear Leader have for breakfast?"

2. Not so much an ideology
I meant "liberal" in the sense of freedom to ask what they want.

3. That's what I don't understand...
When they "thump" a reporter for asking a tough question, WHY THE FUCK DOESN'T THE REPORTER REPORT THAT? I just don't get it.

In my mind, the next Revolutionary Hero will be the first mainstream anchor/reporter who throws down his script live, on air, and says "FUCK THIS! I won't be your whore anymore, Mr. Bush! My country is more important than your empire fantasies!"
