What's the scoop on this more liberal news network?
I heard about one Gore was supposed to be involved in, and one the BBC might be doing. So is it really going to happen in time to be useful for the 2004 election or not?

1. Last I have seen (Oct 31)
Gore network

Speaking of young demographics, former Vice President Al Gore a principal with a group trying to start a news cable network for a youthful, liberal audience. Gore and his partners have raised $70 million to buy Newsworld International from Vivendi Universal.

The yet unnamed channel would be for young viewers who don't want their news "dumbed-down." The group is said to be looking for a young, liberal visionary who knows television. Among the people being consulted is the former president of MTV. The deal to buy Newsworld should close by the end of November.

2. If they DON'T want the news "dumbed down"
Why are they considering someone who worked at MTV?
