How many DU'ers get CNN International |
|
with their cable subscription? I do not. Is it substantially different than "regular" CNN?

I watch it more than I watch CNN, mainly because they tend to "read the news," as opposed to "editorialize." True, you still get Lou Dobbs' Moneyline (which I do NOT watch), but a lot of their other shows are quite good. Christianne Amanpour even hosts one (I probably mangled her name).
I think The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is televised through CNN Int'l, though I've no idea how that happened. Kudos to somebody.
And though this has nothing to do with journalistic integrity, an overnight anchor of theirs, Monita Rajpal, is one of the most stunningly beautiful women I've ever seen.
One of the reasons I initially checked it out, was hearing Noam Chomsky (on C-Span Book TV, I believe) say that CNN Int'l had featured him, though CNN proper wouldn't have dared.

5. We watched it all the time when we were in Tahiti |

It's so wonderful to just hear what happened.. and hear it without all the smilie faces and friendly banter..
They have panels of people from time to time, who actually DO discuss the events, but they do it without the snide comments and yelling and interrupting..
You know.. civilized..
CNN in the USA is like springer CNN International is like the best of Donahue

I get it on the weekends and it is way better than and much dfferent than the regular cnn which i find myself watching less and less. They should carry cnninternational more often and cnn less, but I dont think that will happen. I used to be a news junkie but since all they have been doing is distorting the news and with all the yelling and interuptions I have lost interest in cable. Thank god for c-span and the internet.

In a sort of "news cluster" along w/ the 2 C-SPANS, CNBC, MSNBC, faux and Newsworld International (which is very enlightening). CNNi is rather more sober and sophisticated than CNN, plus no (or little) Blitzer or Eva Zahn, so that's good.
