Chimpy's Media Circus, The Center Ring

Here in Philadelphia we once again have the once-venerable Inquirer serving as the center ring for Our Hero's Media Circus.

Fully 3/4 of the front page is devoted to his ridiculous romp to Iraq. A headlined quote "I was just looking for a warm meal somewhere. I can't think of finer group of folks to have Thanksgiving dinner with than you all." serves to instantly stimulate the gag reflex. Perhaps he'd rather have been dining with several hundred "finer" folks such as those who'd ante up $3K or so?
I found nothing in today's edition suggesting that his visit was nothing but a photo-op stunt. I won't give the Inquirer credit for being astute enough to not point out the obvious. If anything at all appears addressing the slimy motives behind his 2 1/2 hour smirkfest, I'm sure one will have to dig back to page 16 or so to find it. It was exactly there that I found the very brief summary of the visit to Afghanistan by Senators Clinton and Reed, who at least managed to find time to sit and eat with the troops.
Could that story have been placed up front next to the smirking face of *? Nah. A story about a bus Gov. Rendell (D) has been using to tour the state was deemed more worthy. A piece on the BBC, which "Critics say was once a 'safe organization' has turned to sensationalism to stay competitive"? Right. that's up front too, along with a piece about the radioactive cobalt used at a local irradiation plant possibly being stolen by terrorists and turned into a dirty bomb.
Today the Inquirer touched 'em all. Nauseating coverage of the "stunning'" Chimpvisit, which BTW was compared to Eisenhower's visits to Korea. Another bit of bashing on the Dem Governor, who will be doing all he can to see that neo-fascism doesn't get four more years. Reminding us that we must continue to be afraid, very afraid. Potential terra is everywhere.
The BBC? Can't believe what they say. Sensationalism, don't you know. Not at all fair and balanced.
Touched them all. Score another run for Chimpy. Looks like the Inquirer's on board for '04.
