Now, “everyday expenses” should not be that great an amount to a man and wife with no children. But what struck me in this quote from Rushie is that he admits that he was paying his contractors tens of thousands of dollars
in CASH! Why?
I don’t think that’s the truth. But if it is, the only reason I can think of is that the contractors would have asked for it, because without a paper trail –
THEY AVOID PAYING TAXES! (a ‘veddy republican thing to do.) In fact, some contractors give lower job quotes in exchange for being paid in cash. If Rushie is being honest (hey, stop that snickering!), then he is an accomplice to tax evasion, and so are his contractors.
The state and federal government should issue search warrants and get grand jury subpoenas on those contractors to determine if they avoided paying taxes (who do they think they are, drug and energy companies?). Haul them, their accountants, and their lawyers in front of prosecutors to explain to them the finer points of the law regarding tax evasion and prison terms, and let’s just see if they admit Rush paid them thousands of dollars in cash.
It worked before. Remember Al Capone?
