5. That does not compute. |

I'm a freeper? I guess I better stop payment on the check I just sent to the DNC then. Jeez, I thought the article was reasonably factual (for once), if a bit disturbing, but not a "known smear."

We had a similar mix-up on another thread. It wouldn't be beneath a freeper to post something like that here just to get us riled. Without a comment from you or status as an old-timer, we have no way of knowing if that's what we're looking at.
But, I'll repeat my welcome from below and add a

"In Guam, where he was born, Mr. Cohen was involved in a number of ventures at least some of which were unsuccessful, including a publishing company, an ad agency and a market research firm. He says the businesses were hurt by the Asian economic crisis of the late 1990s. "
If the freepers would only give this much scrutiny to George W Bush's financial past. They'd have to say ...
"All of George W Bush's companies failed, but Bush was subsequently bailed out by Bush chronies and Saudi Arabians. Bush pocketed millions while the 'investors' took millions in losses on his behalf. The sole exception may be the Texas Rangers deal where GW Bush got the taxpayers to finance the Rangers to the tune of $170 million dollars with no expectation of repayment. The organization also benefitted from a land grab that saw thousands of acres confiscated by the state of Texas for the Rangers at well below market value."

By the looks of that, it seems that they're lucky to be on the air at all. I'm glad to see that they've restructured, I always thought the plan of making the stations carry the whole lineup was kind of dumb. I think what's going to happpen eventually is that the vast majority of stations will only pick up Al's show and the rest will fade away, probably within the next one to two years. I'm not saying that's a good thing, because I like the other shows, but I think it's reality.
I hope they manage to pull themselves out of the hole and that they stay on the air at least until Al quits to run for senate in Minnesota. I really don't think the network will survive without him, unless another big name takes over his show.

Al thinks he can unseat Norm Coleman from the senate. He would have to prove he's an actual politician, not just a comedian, before I would vote for him.

20. As opposed to a real politician like Bush's rubber stamp man Coleman. |
|
Yeah he has really impressed me with his sucking up. He will be trying to run for VP by then anyways. He has much higher aspirations you can bet on it. Any break in party line has been because he wasn't needed. Even the first ANWR vote..he knew it would go through eventually. Only thing other than Bush that influences his vote is how it will affect his political career.

to e-mail you the article, but I don't have enough posts accumulated here to be allowed to e-mail someone. Bummer. And I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post an entire article here for copyright reasons (I'm guessing not). So, you're out of luck, apparently. (Yes, AP articles tend to disappear quickly.)
