After the seizures in late 1942 of five U.S. enterprises he managed on behalf of Nazi industrialist Fritz Thyssen, Prescott Bush, the grandfather of President George W. Bush, failed to divest himself of more than a dozen "enemy national" relationships that continued until as late as 1951, newly-discovered U.S. government documents reveal.

Furthermore, the records show that Bush and his colleagues routinely attempted to conceal their activities from government investigators.

Bush's partners in the secret web of Thyssen-controlled ventures included former New York Governor W. Averell Harriman and his younger brother, E. Roland Harriman. Their quarter-century of Nazi financial transactions, from 1924-1951, were conducted by the New York private banking firm, Brown Brothers Harriman.

The White House did not return phone calls seeking comment.

4. Well, before I even read it all, another kick.

I'd like to see Jewish people make a huge stink about this, exposing the neocons and hawks to the world.

5. Well....

'Ya know, I've read these articles and there is something that bothers me. Maybe it’s this world of the Internet where so much of it is poorly written, or just plain lies.

In my heart I believe this to be true about the entire Bush family. I think every one of them is despicable. But what bothers me is the lack of documentation. It refers to “…newly-discovered U.S. government documents”.., and “…documents from the National Archives and Library of Congress confirm…”, and it quotes many people - it all sounds like "Area-51" stuff. But they never say which documents, where they are, who wrote them, or even illustrate a copy of one of them.

Maybe this is not the medium for it. Maybe this has to appear in a lengthy book, but I want to see something.

Like I said, in my hearts of hearts I believe it, but I want proof.

I think the author is right at he end of the article where he says it will take hearings to get to the bottom of it, but with the Senate in Republican control – that ain’t ‘gonna happen!

6. I have no doubts...

I don't doubt that there is more than a grain of truth in these dealings. However in all fairness to GW ( and lord knows I thought I 'd never ask for fairness for that rat b*stard), IF his grand-daddy was a Nazi-trading-Anti-Semite, then punish him. It was the Romans who used to execute the whole family. We've kinda moved on.
