Boycott stops abortion clinic project
http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/Southwest/11/14/abortion.boycott.ap/index.html

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Weeks into the project, the contractor hired to build an abortion clinic hit a brick wall: Plumbers and carpenters would not work for him. Drywall installers and heating subcontractors would not do business with him. Cement suppliers for miles around would not touch the job.

He had been hit with a boycott organized by abortion foe and construction-industry executive Chris Danze.

The builder finally quit the job this month, stopping the clinic project in its tracks, in what national Planned Parenthood officials said was the first such boycott they have ever seen.

*snip*

What's wrong with these anti-abortionists? The current law says that abortion is optional. In other words, it's up to each person. Why do these nut-cases decide to control the lives of others?

If people are going to prevent things being built toward something we don't like, then why don't we do a similar boycott regarding building new housing? After all...freepers might live there someday!

1. Sounds like racketeering to me
Hmmm...maybe we should arrange 'boycotts' to prevent the building of certain churches...
No, that would be wrong.

3. Damn
I've been driving myself crazy trying to figure out where Dimbo came up with such an idiotic phrase. Now it's obvious. He believes the whole world thinks like his sociopathic cohorts.

4. So tired...
I'm rather tired of the trogdolyte logic of 'She did it! She should paaaay!' Never mind the life saving procedures, never mind those too poor to afford kids when contraceptives fail. Just straight up Christian abstainance. Ironically, at my high school, it's an abstainence only course, but there's at least 20 pregnant girls... It's sad how your life means nothing unless you're in the womb or just popped out. Perhaps it is true that if you tack 'For the children' 'Protect the unborn', or 'Moral values' onto it, you can get almost any bill passed.

5. Hehheh
I attended both a public and Catholic high school, and was invited to both 20 year reunions.
The public school, being in progressive (at the time) Los Angeles, taught 'Sex Ed'.
The Catholic school, being what it was, taught 'Abstinence'.
According to the Alumni books, both had the same number of pregnant seniors (or sudden marraiges right after graduation).
Of course, the public school had a graduating class of over 1000, while the Catholic school had only 150.
So, the public school managed 30 pregnancies or 'suspicious' maraiges with 500 girls. And the Catholic, also 30 for only 75. Go figure.
(How does a Catholic high school boy propose marraige?
"Your what?")

6. I've seen satistics...
That Catholics have more unplanned pregnancies then any other American religion. Possibly due to their beleif that contraception is an abortion except the rythm method wich they think is effective.
