Rumor: Marriage with Laura is Dubya's Second

Okay, I've been hearing this rumor that Laura Bush is actually Dubya's second wife, and that the Bush twin are really from Dubya's first marriage. I've been looking for sources to either confirm or deny this rumor, but haven't found much reference at all to it online.

The only reason why I even think this rumor is even worth addressing is that Bush partially credits his rebound from alcoholism and the salvaging of his marriage to the birth of his daughters, and if the Bush twins are from a former marriage, then Bush's statement is just a straight-up lie.

So I'm curious. Does anybody have any information on this? Is the rumor just hogwash?

Sorry the girls look exactly like Laura. I would believe that perhaps someone else (like the mailman), is the biological father of the twins.

of why you shouldn't be quick to believe most of the nonsense you read.

W was engaged to someone else before marrying Laura in 1977. The twins were born in 1981. This is stuff that's incredibly easy to find with a simple google search.

Sorry - but after Laura killed her beau (running a stop sign and ramming the car he was driving - alcohol/drug test not available - wonder why?) she was fated to marry W and carry his kids.

Right, well the idea of the post was that it was a rumor of something being kept under wraps by the administration, which is clearly very careful about their PR. After doing a couple simple google searches, I didn't get any hits about this rumor one way or another, so I brought it up for discussion, rather than reposting it as fact.

And, the probability that he did impregnate a girlfriend, who later went on to illegally abort, appears to be substantiated. Larry Flynt and some others who know who it is, tried hard to get her to tell her story (as I recall) prior to election 2000. Wisely, I suppose, she realized the power/evil behind the Bushie's minions and did not.

12. The Better Rumor is She Is A Xanax Addict

I have a friend whose brother worked in the state house in Texas (I know, I know, a friend of a friend of a friend, etc.) during the late 1990's who swears that Pickles is wasted on Xanax most of the time. She apparently starting popping pills while George was still a boozer - either as payback or just to deal with the obnoxious drunk.

Anyway, he says she is zoned 24/7 and Dubya prefers it this way. She is compliant and stays home and stares at the wall. Check out her glassy-eyed stare and lack of anything meaningful to say. Apparently at on State Dinner, she was so wasted after having a couple of glasses of wine (in connection with the Xanax) that she was drooling on herself and the Secret Service escorted her from the room! What a fine First Lady!

Actually, I pity her living with that asshole, but that's moi. The only thing that really pisses me off about her is that as a LIBRARIAN she didn't move heaven and earth to stop him from cutting library funding. DUH.

As for rumors and innuendo regarding our selected POTUS... now that's a goldmine. I lived in Dallas for years (felt like decades) and everyone knew he was a coked out, drunken punk. Nobody cared, in fact the only reason anyone even noticed him, in the partytime 80's, was because of Bush the Elder. W was just another partyboy son of a rich and famous Papa. If you ask certain bartenders and/or coke dealers on the scene at the time, they'll give you chapter and verse on W's drinking and drugging habits. If you ask partygirls of the day, you'll hear even more stories.

But all of this, to me, is amusing but irrelevant. I don't loathe the man because of his partyboy past, I loathe him for his lunatic present.

With all due respect, pitseleh1, should/do we care? Bush's personal business is no less anyone else's business than was Clinton's.

I can't even count the number of times I've heard right-wingers defent any number of horrific foreign and domestic policy decisions by saying "yeah, but at least he didn't lie to the nation," referring of course to the Lewinsky affair. Is it really important whether Bush had a previous marriage? Of course not. But if Bush had really been caught in this sort of personal lie, had his "family values" image actually been compromised, it could (at least theoretically) prevent Republicans from holding Bush up as the solution to a "morally bankrupt" White house, a claim they still cling to.
