Absolutely frightening, if true
Does anyone know anything about Clif Droke? Is he credible? See below:

Economic Collapse in September?
Clif Droke GSR snippet
May 19, 2008

A rumor is swirling around the Internet that an inglorious end to the U.S. economy is imminent. Unlike previous rumors to this effect, this one carries the weight of recent events in the financial realm and has many believing the rumor will come to pass.

Let's examine some of the claims being made: On March 18, 2008, a "closed door" session of Congress was held for only the fourth time in history. According to House Rule XVII, clause 9, it is forbidden for members of the U.S. House of Representatives to reveal the discussions held behind those doors. The penalty for leaking such information includes loss of seniority, fines, reprimand, censure or expulsion. According to news sources, one purpose of the meetings was to discuss new surveillance techniques to be used by U.S. Homeland Security. Rumors continue to swirl as to what the other topics of discussion took place in that meeting.

According to the Australia.TO newspaper, as reported in the May 2008 Last Trumpet Newsletter (LTM), several congressmen were so incensed about what was discussed behind those doors that they were compelled to leak the contents of the meeting. Following is what is rumored to have been discussed: Imminent collapse of the U.S. economy by September 2008; imminent collapse of the U.S. Government finances by February 2009; possibility of civil war within the U.S. resulting from the collapse; detainment of "insurgent U.S. citizens" in anticipation of their moving against the government; the potential for violent action taken by citizens against members of Congress due to the collapses; the merger of the U.S. economy with those of Canada and Mexico as a solution to the collapse; the introduction of a new tri-national currency called the "AMERO" as another economic solution.

7. :) I don't know why they went into a closed session. But considering how
ineffective their open sessions are I wouldn't worry about it too much. They are all a bunch of clowns in Washington these days.

Had the author stopped his claim at economic collapse by September, it might have been at least remotely believable. But then he had to take it into fantasyland with his civil war talk. Who would fight it? For what cause? What groups exist that would drive it?

Besides, a collapse of government finances means there's no money to pay the soldiers, no water to pay KBR & Blackwater, and no money to run these prison camps. Even the kings of old understood that you needed gold to fight a war. You can't have one without the other.

16. I think if something happened and whole cities couldnt eat, drink,...
have electricity, you name it...you don't think people would do something to stay alive? Would they just sit with their children and watch them die? I understand that most only care about them and theirs because for most its all they can do to stay sane and that it will take something extremely bad to move people, watching their family die off may just make them resort to some out of the ordinary actions. Just my thought on it.

I don't think I could just watch my family die off because some very wealthy and powerful people have an agenda that doesn't have the peoples interests in mind. What did we expect to happen as the federal reserve just pumps in fake money into the markets so the wealthy can profit from it as the dollar just drops out and raises the price of everything on the people. I would bet those wealthy people will "somehow" know when the right time is to sell and buy into another currency or metal so they don't lose their wealth due to the dollar collapse, but again, thats just my thoughts on it.

19. 'I would bet those wealthy people will "somehow" know'
The young Warren Buffett would be just as rich today if he had bought lottery tickets. However, that would have raised suspicions. There's only one way to know when to buy and when to sell.

Now, let's get to work on reverse-engineering the "T-chrono" machines and stop leaking information to these narrow-minded fools.

4. Clif Droke is self referential
all links lead to Clif and all links seem to be created by Clif. Outside of Clif related activities it seems that no one else references Clif.

He must be an undiscovered genius.

5. Oh fuck.
Gold bugs have been hitching their wagons to this kind of doom-mongering for years now. I ain't sayin' things are peachy right now, but goldbugs spread this kind of stuff to get the credulous to put all their cash in gold and pump the gold market.

9. It's not only the "gold bugs"
ie. economists of Austrian school. It's also hip marxist economists, PO-consciouss etc., and this think tank that has been predicting for a long time systemic crisis of capitalism relatively accurately: http://www.leap2020.eu/

Leap 2020 also speaks about (second tide of) major unravelling taking place in next August.

Elites have most to loose and are most fearfull, so why wouldn't they keep constantly getting ready to civil war/revolution/terrorism/social unrest by any name and especially so when they know that their make-believe Potemkin economy is about to get revealed as emperors clothes.

congress is competent enough to deal with such finances.

Even if it hit them in the face.

The link in the OP is from a web site that promotes the sale of gold.

Typical Gold Bug.

"The world is coming to an end so buy this here and you'll be alright."

This kind of crap has been around forever.

Gold has it's place. But if one listens to these nimrods too much, one stands to lose ones shirt. And pants. And underwear.
