Linens 'n Things to liquidate remaining stores
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Linens 'n Things, victim of a widespread credit crunch, will begin liquidating its remaining stores as early as Thursday after the bankrupt home goods retailer failed to find a buyer that will operate the company as a going concern.

1. That's sad. I liked them better than Bed Bath and Beyond.
My local fabric store chain is going bankrupt too.

2. That's shocking
L&T was the kind of store that you always went to for things that were necessary.

I personally like Bloodbath and Beyond better, but, still, this is a shock.

Man, every day there's another something gone.

I'm not getting used to it.

3. This reminds me of the early 90s when a lot of retailers just disappeared.
LNT is one of the biggest chains to go in recent memory.

5. The Fabric Place.

There are very few fabric stores where you can get nice fabric like they carried here.

6. Joanne's gobbled up everything in this town
except one remaining Hancock's. I still have a fabric stash from the pre Joanne's days--good thing since about all you can find in those places are sleazy quilter printed cotton blends, evening fabrics, a few drapery fabrics, and juvenile stuff. The selection for those of us who'd like to make our own clothing is horribly slim.

7. Joanne's sucks. Not to be snobby, but it's for the women into crafts
who like more hokey stuff. Fabric Place had GREAT decorators fabrics and they had great discounts. The only other place with nice fabrics is twice as expensive as the Fabric Place. :-(

8. I don't understand how they can go bankupt. The buy stuff so cheap from China
then sell it so marketed up in the US. I found some sheets I liked there. I pay a fair amount for them. They fell apart the third time I washed them. I'd had them over 30 days and they would not exchange them or give me back my money.

9. That sucks. I liked that store, and there's one right down the street from me.
The nearest Bed, Bath & Beyond--I don't know where it is actually.
