Intuit falls after Geithner says he uses TurboTax

U.S. stock market report 1130 ET 21Jan2009-Intuit falls after Geithner says he uses TurboTax ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shares of Intuit Inc fell immediately after Timothy Geithner said on Wednesday he uses the company's TurboTax software product.

It was recently discovered that Geithner, the nominee to be secretary of the Treasury, failed to pay more than $34,000 in tax for Social Security and Medicare from 2001 to 2003.

Intuit stock was down 1 cent to $22.78. Immediately after Geithner said he uses TurboTax, the shares fell to a session low of $22.48.

5. Turbo Tax is great but it is not perfect.
I find it hard to believe that Geithner does all of his own taxes. Anyone who earns a six figure salary and has a complicated tax return should hire a knowledgeable person.

8. Total of four years ,
two fell out of statute of limitations, but he paid them anyway. I think total over $60,000. Does Obama just not know anybody to give these jobs to?
This guy doesn't seem the least bit interested in a real solution. Unless they are just hiding their cards until they can really throw the .... into the fan. My point about his attitude is that the country needs cpr and he is the cpr'er and he ain't jumping up and down and saying, sorry I made a mistake, but let me save this country and then judges me ! Maybe they are just finessing until every player is in position and then they are going to attack.

13. Agree with you. Is Obama in hock to David Rockefeller
Or something? I cannot imagine why Geithner is on his list of appointees.

Your last sentence's meaning escapes me - but I am so sad that our nation's recovery is in the hand sof this dingbat.
(I don't know who your pronouns refer to.)

11. turbotax
Turbotax has nothing to do with what you take out for Social Security and Medicare does it? Maybe their business version does?
