My friends do not want to hear their bank is on danger list. Advice?
Very good friends, have a now struggling business, and their bank is on verge of collapse, according to news articles I have been following in the past month.
Said bank handles all business, personal accounts.

but...as of 9 months ago, they have made it crystal clear they do not want me to talk about the economy,
money, "nothing negative" as it makes one of them "too anxious". The one who handles the books.

When Brunos grocery closed here, all the store personnel acted quite shocked, even tho it was clear the chain was going under for months.

Anyone been in that situation?

1. Denial is a powerful force. You cannot save people from themselves
and you cannot force them to face reality. If you have told them, warned them, I do not know what else you can do or are obligated to do.

7. Once a dam broke, flooding the valley with water.....
A man scrambled to the top of a tree and prayed to God to save him. A man came by on a raft and offered the guy a spot. The man was sure that God would do something different so he sent the man on his way. Then a canoe spend by and offered him a lift. The man declined. Finally, a man came by in an air boat. The man sent the sailor on, thinking that God would part the waters or make them recede. After a while the man lost his grip and drowned. When he got to heaven, he asked God how he could have let him drown.

Let you drown, said God, I sent some one to pick you up 3 times!

We are given warnings, if we but just listen.

3. Suggest they split their money between a bank and a credit union.

5. never been in that precise situation
But in similar situations.

If you haven't said anything yet, and if you believe they have over $250K in assets, then say it once, say it simply and never mention it again. Something such as:

"I understand you asked I not share financial information with you, and I promise not to bring the subject up again, but you may not be aware that xyz bank is on the verge of collapse. Again, I promise, this is the last I'll say on the subject."

And then keep to your promise unless they ask for more info. Just move on by changing the subject to something non-toxic and safe.

Anything beyond that is butting in. They are adults. For all you know, they may have moved their accounts long ago and not told you. Because, um, ya know, it's really not your business...
