Apple's appeal fails to bear fruit

Beijing - American computer giant Apple has lost a court appeal against a decision that rejected its application to have its trademark logo extended to cover clothing and other items in China, state media reported Monday.

The verdict by the Beijing No.1 Intermediate People's Court means that Apple cannot claim that its logo is protected under law for those goods, Xinhua news agency said.

Xinhua said the trademark appraisal committee of China's State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) had previously rejected Apple's application from April 2000 to have its trademark logo extended to cover clothing, hats and shoes.

It's really really difficult for me to post this! It's really really difficult to agree with Communists! No matter how much I love Apple products and the Apple story, American and western corps. are way out of control or have completely immorally/illegally taken over legislators who have written copyright/trademark laws.

Distorting your face w Photoshop Filter? Pasted on Kate Moss' body? On an ugly color? Put on the side of Car or Gun Stock? Why is it bad for Apple to want to have some say about how its logo (a highly recognizable symbol of the brand) is displayed on clothing? Is that really immoral or illegal?

If it were some phrase, or the image of just an apple, I would understand, but the logo (with the bite out of it) is, as you say, highly recognizable
