California - Apple Computer said on Wednesday that it was preparing to launch its popular iPod mini music player internationally on July 24.

"The iPod mini has been a smash hit in the United States, and we're thrilled to finally be able to offer it to music lovers the world over," said Steve Jobs, Apple's chief executive. "IPod has changed the way people listen to music and is now the number-one digital music player in the world
