Al Gore - another terrorist??
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Former Vice President Al Gore Jr. was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize today along with a United Nations panel that monitors climate change for their work educating the world about global warming and advocating for political action to stop it.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee characterized Gore as "the single individual" responsible for convincing world governments that climate change was real, caused by human activity, and posed a threat to society.

U.S. former Vice President Al Gore answers reporters for the presentation of his environmental anti-global-warming documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" during a conference at the French National Assembly in Paris, Wednesday Oct. 11, 2006. Former Vice President Al Gore and the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change have won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced Friday Oct. 12, 2007 that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2007 is to be shared, in two equal parts, between the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Albert Arnold (Al) Gore Jr. for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change. Please note there was a typo error in the article. The Post kept referring to Mr. Gore as 'former vice president' when we all know he should be referred to as 'former president', right?

The reaction from the right wing religious roaches was typical. Over on their 'secret' blog they posted the great news under the heading 'Al Goreleon & UN Now Joins The Ranks of Yasser Arafat' The hidden meaning, of course, is that Gore is no different than Arafat who, in the eyes of the right wing is the twin brother of the devil. Here are some of their comments:

"Now this, is an inconvenient reality, but not based on truth!!!"

"Indeed! Brought to us by the same flaming assholes who protested so
vehemently against nuclear power in the late '70s and '80s. Remember that
worthless Hollyweird movie "The China Syndrome"? Idjits and morons.
Imagine if we had more nuke power generating electricity. France does and
their "green house gas emissions" are the lowest worldwide.
A few years from now we will know that once again we have been deceived by
the dickheads on the left. Of course not before they destroy our country.
Environmentalist's remind me of dog poop. It's there and somebody has to
pick it up but it'll make a grown man retch. No wonder dog poop is referred
to as "land mines". These enviro's are much the same and AlGore is the
biggest steaming pile of them all......don't step in it and if ya do don't
get any on ya."

"guess I should have checked everything in my inbox....I cannot believe this
CRAP!!!"

"GOOD TIMING IN ANNOUNCING THE JOKE of the week... Thanks we need some laughs on a cloudy Friday Morning... GOREDOM and the UN... TWO HUGE JOKES!!!!- "

"This one really floored me...ha, ha, ha,....I'm in one of those moments of
disbelief that will probably become disgust and anger. I'm going to try to
ignore this for a bit."

"Isn't the monetary prize $1mil? Time to purchase more "offsets."

"-NOW he can buy a bigger GULFSTREAM to Pollute all over the world and buy more GOOGLE SHARES... "

"Lie about something and be honored. Shows me how phony the Nobel Prize is."

"To be considered a winner with False scientific facts and be co- honored with a UN panel"

"Fwd: Gore Wins Nobel Prize, High Court Gives It to Bush
Tahnk goodness for the Right Supreme court... Would this news really make lunatics IMPLODE!!"

"Hilarity!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice twist, though he didn't need to, the idea that
this asshat won the prize fits right in as a post there."
(end of quotes)

It's so sad isn't it? They're so jealous of everything their opponents accomplish so they have to tear everything down while propping themselves up. But to what end? What has Bush accomplished in comparison to Al Gore and any other successful political figure? Bush is a failure and so are his followers. Their envy speaks volumes. And their stupidity, which I've commented about before, screams out. The one comment about global warming being based on 'false scientific facts' says it all. Logically, if something is a fact, how the hell can it be false? LOL Seriously though, how many times do we have to tell these assholes that the MAJORITY of scientists agree with former President Gore?

2. I still disagree, it is BushPutinist Authoritarianism we fight, not conservatism
I still view the Old American conservatives, who are a powerless and endangered species, these days, as people we disagree with with, but can work and compromise with, Old American Style.

Problem is, so many legitimate coinservatives have had their brains washed into becoming Foxified weak-minded, cognitively-impaired, mentally compartmentalized Busheviks, with a similar mental makeup to other Authoritarian Followers throughout history (see my sigline link for more info on how that fits together).

Our problem is much more nuanced and difficult that "all conservatives are evil" dogma. It's all Bushies, like the Nazis before them, who are if not evil then compromised morally in the same way the Good Germans were for atrocities and destruction of their own freedom.

3. i frankly do not know what you are talking about -- the old days
are gone.

i understand nostalgia -- even sentiment -- and i think that's what you're sounding like here --
sentimentalizing Everett Dickson back into existence.

or calling back the ''good old days'' -- that never really were good.

we couldn't even get the ERA passed with plenty of those good old senators around.

and when you say Authoritarian -- i'm assuming you mean a proponent of a strong president?
which is something i am not.

but i am socialist and a believer in rules and regulations and certainly not a libertarian style society.

so don't describe ''our'' problem for me -- because i don't see it that way.

i don't even think moderates in contemporary society are ''good'' -- and may even be worse than conservatives.

4. ALL kinds are required:liberals moderates, socialists, conservatives, all.
I guess we will have to agree to disagree. And authoritarianism goes well beyond "believing in a strong President".

But, nevermind.

6. Your right. It depends on the circumstance
Conservatism is a good things in certain circumstances. For example, let's be conservative about how much pollution is emitted into the atmosphere, how much garbage we dump into land fills, or even how much butter we put on our toast (well, for me anyway). Better to be conservative with your money when you have little of it - not when you're living well and have a modicum of security.

Problem with today's conservatives is that they really aren't. They are misers with their own money but are wasteful spenders of government money (ie, *our* money) and overwhelming abusers of power to control other people (bullies). Unfortunately, they are conservative in all the ways that would otherwise make them human. They are conservative with their compassion, with their intellectual curiosity, conservative with their giving, and conservative with their sense of fairness. In debates, they may say their conservative, but really, they only have selective hearing. They seek to win, not to know the truth.

I believe that mentality comes from remnants of past humans who lived by pillage and plunder. Other people outside their circles are to be used for personal gain only. Beyond that, people are merely an annoyance to them. That they call themselves conservatives is only self-ingratiating but it holds no reality to their actions which say otherwise.
