Anyone know where to get the best deals on wind turbines? |
|
I'm again considering the possibility of adding one or more wind turbines to my property. Cheapness is a primary concern, but anything under 1 kilowatt rated power just seems a waste of time. Anyone know of a place which has mid-sized turbines relatively cheap, with or without a tower/pole for mounting?

2. I'm comparing mainly against eBay, where a set of 6 1200 watt turbines seems to be worth $2500. |

Figuring production at 33% of rated capacity, that would still produce more than twice as much power as my house requires. At local rates, that would result in a roughly $100 per month payback from the local utility, which would nicely work to offset the roughly $5k cost of the turbines, mounts, and grid-tie inverter. Net result, payback in about 2 years.
