Solar energy to bring billion growth to Velux

23-11-2007

Companies:

Fascination of sunbeams and fresh air may provide new success to the wealthy Kann-Rasmussen family and to the family-owned VKR Holding within a few years. Through acquistitions of a number of Danish and European companies VKR Holding has in privacy built up sales of more than 130 million euro within solar heating systems and with an increasing focus on energy consumption in the EU the business group expects to double or triple their sales to approximately 350 million euro within three to five years, writes the Danish business daily Børsen.

VKR Holding, which is mostly known from the roof window company Velux and the mantra of getting natural light and fresh air into peoples’ everyday life, has united the solar heating activities in the company Solarcap. According to Niels Freiesleben, Managing Director of Solarcap, the solar heating market is still very changeable but increasing focus on energy consumption indicates rising and more stable growth rates during the years to come.
