Isaac Asimov - "No More Ice Ages?"
Browsing through my Asimov collection, I pulled out Fact and Fancy, a collection of his essays.

One, "No More Ice Ages?" caught my attention. This essay, published in 1959 neatly spells out the risks associated with CO2, the greenhouse effect and the use of fossil fuels.

Does anybody know if this can be found on-line? (and if so, where?) I'd love to be able to pass on a link the next time someone says, "Yeah, well, in the 70's, scientists were predicting 'Global Cooling.'"

1. We have had ice ages for millions of years and will have one in
the future. Once you control global warming and revert back to natural cycles we will have an ice age again.

2. Neat that he had such foresight, but he's wrong...
because if the Gulf Stream shifts again, we could have an ice age within 10 ten years of the shift.

Besides, as someone else said, eventually the planet will reach carbon equilibrium and we'll be back to normal cycles.

(But, we'll all be dead by then.)

3. Judging a book by its cover - or an essay by its title
I'm amused that you're both willing to draw conclusions from a four word title.
