BRUSSELS (Thomson Financial) - Deutsche Bank (nyse: DB - news - people ) Group AG. vice chairman Caio Koch-Weser said the private sector can do more in the fight against climate change.

Speaking at a round table debate on environmental protection and climate change here, the vice chairman said the financial industry sees the risk of climate change for economic development but also should see 'vast opportunities'.

To realise these opportunities, however, more can be done to move private sector capital into direct investments to raise funds for technology projects.

Koch-Weser put forward seven proposals for action from the international business community.
