Navajo Nation Pushes for Uranium Cleanup
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=90959034

"Despite the lure of millions of dollars, the Navajo Nation has banned uranium mining on its reservation, which spans parts of Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. That decision is the result of an ongoing legacy of disease left by decades of mining in the past."

Pillage, Plunder and Profit.

1. Good for them
its the lies that really pisses me off about the nuclear power industry. 40 some odd years I've been hearing those untruths, half truths and outright lies, 40+ years.

2. Quite
We should atone for the sins of the past, as we should for the sins of the present: Let's sort that shit out and move on.

4. I wish I had more comforting words

up until these last few years I thought we had stopped this madness but I see it like so many other wrongs and battles won that they will have to be fought yet once again. I'm not sure we can ever make up for what has transpired but we sure as heck can make sure to not let it happen again. Thats our right and thats our Duty. America as a whole is going to turn over a whole 'nuther leaf. Yes better times are coming for all of us.

Edit to Add: Welcome to DU :hi:
