1. Damn, I just got my bedroom floor dry from Fay.

Rain from Fay blew horizontal and entered the house by way of loose shingles. Wet carpet pad is the worst smell (well, maybe next to cat pee).

4. I grew up mostly on the east coast

and spent a good part of my childhood in late summer and early fall helping my mother stuff towels into window sashes where the horizontal rain was blowing in.

Been there, done that, in other words.

The good thing is that a fan will help clear it out, that and fortunate weather over the next couple of weeks.
