A "service" biz-model for wind-power.
(This is pretty interesting. This company installs wind turbines, but it's as a service. The customer pays for the electricity generated, but not the actual hardware.)

McKenzie Bay International Ltd., with offices in Grand Rapids and Brighton, has developed a wind-power system that would generate and store electricity for urban facilities, such as hospitals, schools, apartment complexes and office buildings.

Unlike other wind technology, however, the system is to be installed, owned and operated by WindStor Power Co., a subsidiary of McKenzie Bay, which would sell the generated electricity directly to the users.

Why sell the electricity instead of the wind turbines?

"The money is phenomenal," said Richard Kaiser, director of investor relations at McKenzie Bay. "It's 50 times greater to own the installation and sell the power back because you get a recurring revenue and the end user saves a lot of money too."
