Shoe Polish and the Environment
In Los Angeles and most other places, shoe polish is disallowed in the regular trash. It must be disposed of as a hazardous material, because it often contains materials like naphtha and turpentine.

Polish Your Shoes With a Banana Peel
You can polish your shoes with a banana peel. It is a great way to reduce waste. Eat the banana for obvious reasons. Reuse the peel to polish the shoe. The oils and the potassium in the banana polish and preserve your shoes. Compost the peel. You can have polished shoes without damaging your health or the environment, leaving behind zero packaging waste.

3. You can also fix cd scratches with a banana peel.

When I was a kid (like around 5), my friends and I used to jump in those big garbage cans. Sometimes we got lucky and found a banana peel stuck on the bottom and we'd eat it. I probably have worms and all sorts of parasites from those days.
