Whale Wars - Sea Shepherd, Season 2 Animal Planet starting June 5

More dangerous, drama-filled and controversial than ever, WHALE WARS returns with a vengeance on Friday, June 5, at 9 PM e/p. Collisions at sea, harrowing nautical maneuvers, a near-death experience in an ice field and more aggressive Japanese defenses against the Sea Shepherds — including the use of Long Range Acoustical Devices (LRADs), sonic devices that cause intense pain and could cause permanent hearing damage — are just some of the highlights in store this season.

1. Is this the season where Watson gets "shot"?
Never heard if anything ever came of that...if it was a bullet etc

2. Never header a final determination
That was last year/season. They pulled a fragment out of his Kevlar. He was a little bruised. If a bullet, light caliber round (.38 or 9mm at most). Possible ricochet. I studied the film fairly closely ... it could have been a fragment from one of the flash-bang grenades the whalers were tossing at the time. Stun grenades are not designed to kill ... but that doesn't make them completely non-lethal. Both sides are playing a dangerous game in some of the world's most treacherous waters. I can't blame Watson for trying to exploit the event ... public pressure is one of his best (and least risky ... for both sides) weapons.

5. I looked closely at the film as well, did not look like a bullet to me
My guess would be a part of flash bang or something that a flash bang blew off the ship. That presumes that incident was real. I say that since the lack of follow up reports gives those who think he is a spotlight seeking charlatan more ammunition.

6. It could have been
Bullets do weird things, especially when they ricochet or smack into Kevlar. Even when you stop the film it is hard to get that good a look at it ... pretty much all you can verify by the footage is that they pulled out a chunk of metal. We really don't have any evidence as to how it got there ...

But I do think it more likely it was shrapnel from a flash bang.

Watson is not a charlatan. He is monomaniacal. I kinda like that about him, and in large part share his objectives regarding whaling.

3. It's only "dangerous" because Watson insists on ramming ships and endangering human life.
One of these days he'll kill somebody and wind up in jail where he belongs.

are the most important things a human being can do. This is defense. Just like our soldiers defend or our lawyers defend. What would you defend or give your life for? And for who, the US Army.
