Intense Laser Zap Improves Energy-Efficiency of Typical Light Bulbs
Swapping energy-hogging incandescent light bulbs for energy-sipping compact florescent lights is a sure way to cut your utility bill, and your carbon footrpint.

Now some researchers say they've found a way to use an ultra-powerful laser to transform incandescents into energy misers.

1. Aha! But can they do the trick where they pop the black ballon inside the clear one?
:P

2. Heh, or blow a bubble
Inside a bubble. I thought this story was pretty cool, but I'm thinking it might make incandescents a tad more expensive.

3. It begs the question "why?" though ...
Given that there are already more efficient bulbs than bog-standard
incandescents, why are they considering bringing in more expensive
incandescents (that will probably have an even shorter life than
the originals)?

They'll still be banned over here before long so it doesn't bother
me too much ... just curiosity ...

4. If I had a femtosecond laser....
I'd do it just because I could.
