from the idea that it is not a good thing to subsidize self-absorbed bourgeios brats who couldn't care less about humanity, except to the extent that humanity was able to shout, "LOOK AT THAT GUY, HE'S RICH!!!!!!!"
My son and I - he's ten - calculated last week how many new trees, and tons of carbon dioxide, one could purchase with $150,000 - the full cost of producing a Tesla, with the government's $50,0000 "let's help the poor distressed billionaire" subsidy added on it.
The answer: A lot of trees.
