4. I agree the Hubble Deep Field
image is one of the most scientifically important images Hubble has obtained so far. About 1,500 galaxies in an angular area the size of a dime at 75 ft. Some of these galaxies are just starting to form after the big bang (due to the large distances and "lookback" times involved).

7. IMHO the best picture the Hubble ever made was
the Hubble Deep-Field.
It was definitely not the clearest, the most colorful or the most spectacular. But it fired the imagination. It was quite literally a snapshot back in time. I doubt life had moved out of the sea at that point.
