Making swiss cheese out of Colorado's Rocky Mountains
n the dying days of Bush Jr.'s administration there was a massive sell off of untouched Colorado Rocky Mountain wilderness for oil and gas drilling that only a lame-duck President would have the guts to undertake.

As the Times described the land grab at the time:

"What we are really seeing, though, is the last gasp of the Cheney drill-now, drill-everywhere energy strategy; one last favor to the oil and gas drillers and the off-road vehicle enthusiasts before a more conservation-minded president (both Senators Barack Obama and John McCain have far better records than Mr. Bush) comes to town."

Many of these deals remain on the books.

I hope this works. Look west of Rifle CO and you'll see the well sites. Keep looking up near Meeker and you'll see more. With high oil prices the oil companies were drilling everywhere. Luckily Shell yesterday withdrew a plan to pump billions of gallons of water out of the Yampa for their oil shale operations.

Also check out this video/article from Huffpo about flaming sinks in areas where Frakking is occurring.

2. Put a great deal of the blame on Bush's last minute political
appointees to the Dept of the Interior. They are still there!!!
