A month in - outrage over Gulf oil spill grows
http://www.wwl.com/A-month-in---outrage-over-Gulf-oil-spill-grows/7122997

Thick, sticky oil crept deeper into delicate marshes of the Mississippi Delta, an arrival dreaded for a month since the crude started spewing into the Gulf, as anger and frustration mounted over efforts to plug the gusher from a blown-out well and contain the spill.

Up to now, only tar balls and a sheen of oil had come ashore. But chocolate brown and vivid orange globs and sheets of foul-smelling oil the consistency of latex paint have begun coating the reeds and grasses of Louisiana's wetlands, home to rare birds, mammals and a rich variety of marine life.

With each passing day, outrage grows. State and local officials say the federal government isn't doing enough. President Barack Obama faults the agency that oversees offshore drilling. Republicans say the Coast Guard and the administration should have done more.

A deep, stagnant ooze sat in the middle of a particularly devastated marsh off the Louisiana coast where Emily Guidry Schatzel of the National Wildlife Federation was examining stained reeds.

2. What if someone loaded up truck after truck of this and drove it to DC?
Do you think that might finally get someone's attention enough to make a decisive stand against BP, or would they still stay out of it for the funds that big oil brings in to their campaigns? Better yet - send 2 truckloads for every congress critter - 1 to DC and one to their home in their homestate. Since the people in Louisiana, Mississippi etc are being effected in the homes as well as their livelihoods maybe congress people need to be reminded both at home and at work. BP execs pools and spas could be bubbling the stuff also - after all, it's only a little bit...

3. You likely would get arrested but imagine dumping 10 dump trucks filled with oil on Pensylvania Ave

Then using the trucks to block traffic and draw in the media.

A big lake of oozing oil sloshing down the street.
Maybe get some protesters to carry banners and tromp through the oil (oil on stuff always looks worse than just sitting there).

4. +10000000000!
I like that idea...

dump it on the steps of Congress, and in the reflection pool....

would that wake them up?
would someone be willing to take that risk of arrest and actually protest in that powerful of a manner? It woild probably take someone who had lost everything and wasn't afraid to be busted

I am ready to cheer that move for sure....

5. "and in the reflection pool...."
Now that would make it to the news. Dump it on the monuments too.
Maybe some signs like "Property of BP oil" :)

Sorry I got too much to lose to try a stunt like that but I would contribute to someone legal defense if they had the guts to do something like that.

6. Or pelt BP, Halliburton, Transocean execs and boards with oil balloons.
Wherever they appear, when they least expect it, for the rest of their filthy lives.

(Water balloons way too good for them.)
