Organic Solar Cells: The Ultimate Cleantech Invention
A nice look at dye-sensitized solar cells, which are a low-cost, organic alternative to silicon solar cells.

An organic solar cell? It could be on its way to mainstream consumers relatively soon.

Michael Gratzel, the Director of the Laboratory of Photonics and Interfaces at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland has been working on organic dye-sensitezed solar (DSC) cells for almost 40 years.

3. If I had a dollar for every scientific revolution that would be in consumer hands "soon..."
Then I could fund this kind of research myself. Hype does not make for real world applications.

4. ROFL.... you do understand the technical definition of "organic", yes?

The word "organic" in chemistry does not mean the same thing as the word "organic" in the supermarket produce aisle.
