U.S. House Says No On E15

One month after the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved the use of gasoline blended with 15 percent ethanol (E15) for all passenger vehicles (cars, SUV's and light trucks) model year (MY) 2001 to present, policy makers have voted "no" on funding the change.

The EPA's action on E15 has been laden in controversy from the beginning. The U.S. House of Representatives voted 286-135 to block the EPA's use of federal funds to help implement the its ruling. Republican John Sullivan of Oklahoma spearheaded the block with the introduction of his amendment to the bill proposed to have the initiative funded by the federal government.

We should not be expanding the use of alcohol as fuel. We need the grain for food.

2. Good news, IMO...

Not only is this an inappropriate use for valuable grain, but there are much better and more efficient ways to reduce our dependence on gas and oil than to add crap to the gas we put in our cars... x(
