Map of Earth in the future?
Does anyone know where I can get some projected maps? Not necessarily those of Earth millions of years from now but after global warming raises the sea levels, preferably a worst case scenario with some of the lead up conditions.
Thanks

Google for "global warming sea level map" (remove quotes before entering it as a search).

I didn't read it myself, I just googled it, so I have no idea how reliable this source is...

11. I'm not entirely worried about the rise in sea level
so much. It will rise, but probably not as much as predicted. One reason I think this will be the rise in temperature will evaporate more water, so instead of drastically larger oceans, we'll end up with slightly larger oceans that have a higher salt concentration and the air will be more humid.

My major concern is what will the rise in temperature and increase in UV exposure do to people and animals living on this planet? To me, that is the scary part!

4. I've looked for that too....
The best I found were temperature maps that showed areas of temperature differentials in the future based on current projections.

Nothing on seal level changes as far as how it will affect global coastal topography.

If you find something pass it on!

7. Florida with a 20' sea level rise

20' is a lot but within some worst case projections.

see National Geo site for good article and links

8. According to this projection, coastal cities of S. America are OK
but the giant rivers on this continent are going to deluge the rainforest and the pampas.

9. good topograhical data source
http://edcdaac.usgs.gov/gtopo30/gtopo30.asp

can click and look at large Geographoical areas and the existing elevations. You can extrapolate which areas will be worst hit. This is the map set used in the projections linked earlier in this thread.

It's solid data. The big ? is how much sea levels will rise. The water will follow the topographical contours. So the maps posted earlier are good...if the sea rises that much.

12. There was a sequence at the start of Waterworld
It showed the Earth changing as sea levels rose about 2000 feet. Although it was absurd (2000 feet is several times more than all the ice in the world can account for), it was still an awe-inspiring sequence.

I also thought the movie was pretty good -- not nearly as bad as the critics whined it was.
