Iowa Governor Vetoes Greenhouse Gas Emissions Regulation
Over the last several months the United States Environmental Protection Agency has come under increased fire for its proposals to regulate greenhouse gas emissions (GHG).

The Republican controlled House of Representatives has been unfaltering in its challenge of the EPA's authority to regulate GHGs as mandated by the Clean Air Act. Despite strong scientific support for GHG regulation, Republicans claim that EPA regulations forced upon utilities will cause an unnecessary spike in energy costs which will result in the loss of jobs, further hindering the economy's recovery.

Senators and members of Congress are not the only Republicans fighting climate control regulations. In the state of Iowa, newly elected Governor Terry Branstad (R) vowed to veto the latest utility regulation approved by Iowa's Environmental Protection Commission.
