It's Snowing On The Beaches In Melbourne And Tasmania - Reuters
CANBERRA - Freezing weather driven by an Antarctic cold front led to rare snowfalls on beaches and mountains across southeast Australia on Wednesday, closing major highways and country schools.

In a once in a 20-year event, snow fell on the southern island state of Tasmania, on beaches and mountains in the state of Victoria, on farms recovering from severe drought in New South Wales state and on the national parliament in Canberra.

EDIT

In the southern state of Victoria, snowfalls around the city of Melbourne and to the state's southeast were the largest recorded in 40 years, prompting authorities to close several major country highways.

1. Hello Australia? Message from Gaia ...
... Please stop fucking about with political arse-wipes like "carbon-
trading" and start doing something meaningful.

Love,

Gaia

PS: I've already tried the US, UK, Spain, Portugal, France and several
others in my search for intelligent life on the surface but without
success ... please prove otherwise or you're all fucked.

2. Last week, it snowed in NE Somalia for the first time
that anyone can remember. Meanwhile, it's been hotter than hell in much of the US and Europe this summer.

Is the world tipping over?

Let it snow. ;-)
