High times and energy consumption - the energy cost of growing weed.
http://www.greentechmedia.com/articles/read/pot-article/

"Marijuana, Top US Crop, Has a $5B Power Bill
Study finds that one percent of U.S. electricity is used to grow The Chronic and Purple Haze."
Dude. This might harsh your mellow.
About $5 billion in power is used each year in the U.S. to grow cannabis indoors, according to a recent report.
Put another way, 20 terawatt-hours per year, one percent of national electricity consumption, or the output of seven large power plants is devoted to make Pink Floyd sound interesting and keep the Denny's graveyard shift in business.
In contrast, data centers consume about two percent of the nation's electric power."

This isn't dated April 1st, but I had to check when I read that the report is from the consulting firm of "Spicoli, Marley, Chong and Marin."

"Come on dude, open up. It's Dave."

"Dave's not here, man."

2. Green growers should go green and make their own power... or better yet
end the so-called 'war' on (some) drugs now.

6. Yeah, that's what happens when moronic laws force you to grow it indoors
I wonder what the electricity bill would be if we had to grow our corn or soybean crop with high-intensity growlights too?

8. Most likely close to that...
I know of a power bill that is 2300.00 a month and its an efficient operation.
Legalize and move production outdoor would work in some of the US but not all.
NorCal/SoOr would do well.
