Another Right-Wing Nut Appointment by the Partisan of the USA
From the Heartland Institute's website:

CHICAGO: NOVEMBER 21, 2003: President George W. Bush has appointed Dr. Herbert J. Walberg, chairman of the Board of Directors of The Heartland Institute, to the National Board for Education Sciences.

The National Board for Education Sciences was established in 2002 to oversee research, data collection and evaluation, and dissemination of information. It has 15 members, all appointed by the President to two-year terms.

Where do they get their contributions/enviro policy ideas (major contributors listed on Heartland's website) -

Greening Earth Society (not what you think! From their website: Greening Earth Society is a not-for-profit membership organization comprised of rural electric cooperatives and municipal electric utilities, their fuel suppliers, and thousands of individuals.)
BP Amoco
General Motors
The Heritage Foundation (enough said)
Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers
American Petroleum Institute
American Plastics Council
Asphalt Institute
Chemical Manufacturers Assoc.
Chevron
Chlorine Chemistry Council
Citgo
Daimler Chrysler
Energy Group
Exxon Mobil
Florida Wood Council
Ford Motor Corp.
Forest Resources Assoc.
Forestry Services Co.
Franco-Nevada Mining
GM
Union Carbide
etc., etc. etc.

It's true folks, Bush is putting all the foxed in charge of the hen house. We have to get him out of there or we will continue to see appointments like this shaping America's policy and future.

Dean

1. Awful - and totally predictable.
This administration rewards its friends and punishes its enemies - period. They are nothing if not consistent.

3. The Greening Earth Society
is a bunch of idiots who claimed that increases in CO2 will stimulate plant growth. The plants will draw down the CO2 and crops will be stimulated. Too bad for them that many recent scientific articles reached the opposite conclusion. They are some of biggest neoluddites in the world.
