Toyota To Offer Hybrid Highlander SUV This Year - Bloomberg
"Toyota Motor Corp., the world's first automaker to sell vehicles that run on gasoline and electricity, will add the fuel-saving system to the Highlander sport-utility vehicle in 2004 to widen its lead in sales of hybrid vehicles.

The 2005 model Highlander will be the Toyota City, Japan- based company's first vehicle to combine a 3.3-liter, V-6 engine with a modified version of the hybrid system used in the Prius small car, Jim Press, chief operating officer of Toyota's U.S. unit, told reporters at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Sales are to begin late this year."

3. I am planning on buying a new car ...
in the summer of 2005.

I currently drive a Mazda 626 ('91), and it gets 30 MPG, which is not bad. My car is used to get me to work everyday, plus any errands that I must do. We have a minivan that is the family transportation.

A hybrid is the perfect vehicle for this. I plan to look very seriously into getting a hybrid.

Cheers
Drifter

5. You never hear too much about Mazda, but the 626 is one of the
finest cars on the road imo. A good company with a top notch product. My family has owned nothing else since the first purchase in the late 80's.

4. Honda to Offer Accord Hybrid...
in 2004, according to this report from Forbes...

http://www.forbes.com/home_asia/newswire/2004/01/05/rtr1198095.html

I currently have a Civic Hybrid and love it. My wife will probably be looking for a new car sometime next year, and I think I know what it will be.
