PHILOMATH, Ore. - The documentary "Clear Cut: The Story of Philomath, Oregon" will play at the Sundance Film Festival come January. Filmmaker Peter Richardson, a Philomath High School graduate, says he is still in shock. It is Richardson's first feature.

Richardson's film focuses on the philanthropic Clemens Foundation's fight over values with the Philomath School District. The Foundation says the district was too liberal.

Looks interesting. I remember families that moved to Philomath to take advantage of this college money, and I always wondered how long you had to go there to get it. Sounds like the criteria changed over the years. I also grew up in a logging town and I understand the clash of cultures there.
