never has such a Parabolic Curve been stabilized at the Top

And you can add 1.2 Billion to this Growth figure.

The Global Trajectory

http://atm.geo.nsf.gov/unidata/staff/blynds/globtraj/gtpt1.html

And this article does not mention
Hydrocarbons Half Life.

And it's written in 1993. All trajectories mentioned have
only increased their rate of increase.

4. yes, not such a big wave after all. Only human

(a) Humans are multicellular beings like many others.
No species and no rank of importance are needed for
evolution to take place.

(b) The environment is the place where human
interactions occur and the result of those interactions.
The environment is indifferent to the existence of
humanity
as it is indifferent to anything.

(c) Humanity is an abstract term denoting contingent
similarities among organisms.   These human organisms
may or may not differentiate, diverge and extinguish in
the future as their ancestors did in the past.

(d) Rights are something like an optical illusion of the
nervous system of some organisms.   They are of the
same nature of  desires.   { 1 }

(e) Conflicts are the normal interaction activity and
are unavoidable.   They can only be redirected to
different targets as a function of  local value hierarchies.
Value hierarchies of different interacting actors may be not compatible.

(f) There is no good or bad environment in abstract.   Environment may be suitable to
someone sometimes
and may be hostile to others.
Predator-Prey dynamic
can describe actors' interactions.

6. Yes, to find out whether we're bugs or gods
Asimov offered a general rule for evaluating scientific
heresies. If they emerge within the scientific community,
and are not taken up and supported by the public, they
often turn out to be right. But, on the other hand, "when
a view denounced by scientists as false is, nevertheless, popular with the general public, the mere fact of the
popularity is strong evidence in favor of its worthlessness."
He noted that, for the growth of science, doubting is
far more important than believing.

7. There's a Perfectly Natural Solution for This Trend:
Massive die-offs. Happens all the time with other species when prey or other resources run out. See -- the free market DOES work. </sarcasm>

On the other hand, S-curves are not unknown. I have heard that with no special intervention, the population will level off at around 10 billion. Don't know the pedigree of that claim, but it has partly to do with lower birth rates associated with urbanization and higher living standards.

Raising third-world living standards and promoting marriage only after a period of independence and economic stability are two of the most effective means of trying to slow down this trend.

8. 10 Billion human beings
I don't know about you, but I don't find the prospect of a plateau at 10 billion human beings to be very comforting. We're already too crowded and I can't imagine what a cesspool this world would be with yet a few more billion humans added to the existing population.

We're vermin, pure and simple.
