Ice Update - Sea Ice Line Moving Steadily N. From Svalbard @ 82 North

In six years of following this site, I've never seen the pack line go that far north.



Most of Baffin Bay is now nearly ice-free: Kane Basin and Kennedy Channel (to the north) are also beginning to break up.



Davis Strait (just south of Baffin Bay) also going fast.



Denmark Strait clearing rapidly - should be a busy year up on the Greenland ice cap!

somewhere I read or heard that the pentagon was waiting to see how much ice would melt and if the channel would open all the way from east to west, before they planned military options for the region.

won't it be Canada's waterway?

yes, I know Canada is now neo con land and will do neo con bidding. (Canada is now ramping up their military)
