VIP Homes teams with SRP to offer solar option on new homes (AZ)
http://phoenix.bizjournals.com/phoenix/stories/2006/11/06/daily49.html

Family-owned and operated VIP Homes in Mesa has joined with Salt River Project to give homeowners a chance to add 2- or 4-kilowatt solar electric systems to their new homes.

The 2-kilowatt system would be free with SRP applying its EarthWise Solar Energy incentive payment and state and federal tax credits kicking in. The $8,000 cost for the 4-kilowatt system could be added to the mortgage.

The program is available on homes bought through the end of the year at Whisper Mountain, Sonoran Wells, Dobbins Crossing, Vaquero Estates and the soon to be constructed Nauvoo Station communities, which are located in Mesa, Queen Creek and Phoenix's South Mountain area.

According to SRP, the owner of a 2,000 square-foot home could expect a savings of about 20 percent a year from a typical 2-kilowatt system.
