Conrad brings Senate to a halt. (demanding drought relief)

Apparently, yes. He's going to object to all business before the Senate until Republicans agree to vote on emergency relief for drought stricken farmers.

Conrad withdrew the amendment yesterday with the agreement that Republicans would allow it to come forward today. He is being prevented today from doing that. So he is going to hold up Senate business until Republicans relent and abide by their agreement.

This is the bill and the Senator who threatened to go nuclear yesterday. He also did the LBJ in-your-face trick with Kay Bailey Hutchison (read at link).

Can you believe she has a law degree? Kay Bailey Hutchison became a newscaster because no law firm would hire her. Then she went into politics and it has become her career.
