Study Reveals Americans Would Rather Consume Renewable Energy

Shelton Group, a Knoxville, Tenn.-based communications agency, has released its second study, titled "Energy Pulse 2006," which analyzes American consumers' attitudes toward energy consumption and conservation.

The study found that more consumers are turning to their utility companies to provide information and resources to obtain renewable energy. "Energy Pulse 2006" reveals that 76% of Americans believe it is extremely important that their electric utility offers power produced from renewable sources. Fifty-six percent agreed that utilities should charge a small fee to all of their customers to cover the cost of renewable energy generation.

While only 4% are currently enrolled in a green power program, 44% say they would be likely to participate in their utility's program if it were offered.

1. I think all our buildings need solar shingles where applicable. More wind

farms, tidal turbines, you name it. I would prefer to do less wood burning if we can though.
