November 2006 Already Seattle's Rainiest November Ever, On Track For Rainiest Month
As the planet warms, Seattle can expect more heavy rain and more flooding.

That prediction from the University of Washington's Climate Impacts Group was made early this year and is for the period from 2050 to the end of the century. But it has proved prematurely prescient.

This November is already the wettest November in Seattle's history, after 11.64 inches of rain. With nearly two weeks remaining in what is historically the city's wettest month, November 2006 seems certain to become the single rainiest month on record.

1. I don't know about all that...
I dont think it has rained more, I just think that it has been heavier rain.

I remember like 5 or 6 years ago when it rained here for like 90 days straight. I almost lost my mind.

2. Uhmmm...
A total is a total...if that is what the rainfall has been reported then that's what it is. If it seems like it might have rained forever in some arbitrary time period of yours that's OK but that would be just your opinion...

3. You're both right.
We had a record (or near-record) period of rain not long ago. But that was a record for the most consecutive days of rain. This month's record will be for the most volume of rain. It has been much heavier rainfall than Seattle usually gets.
